Summer's Coming

So, in less than two weeks I will be on my way to Idaho... that's so crazy. Today I went to the park with a friend from church and her three kids. The kids had fun. We talked. It's sort of depressing to think that it's the last time we'll do that...

Tomorrow I will be awarding my students with honor certificates for their accomplishments this year. That will be sort of hard, too.

Friday my sister is showing up and we are heading to Matt's house to sing. We will be performing at a concert on Sunday night. We are really looking forward to it.

When I get back it will be my last week here in Pittsburgh. Wow.

I'll let you know how it goes!

Mother's Day

My mother's day present was given to me today, though I don't get to use it until Friday night. We are chaperoning for the RTCS High School Prom and it is going to be held here. After the evening is over, we can head up to our suite for the night. M&D will have Caleb as they will be here for the Grove City Graduation -- and we both can't stay in our apartment... I am excited! I was told I could have whatever I wanted... we'll see what that means... room service? Giggle. I have never had that before, ever!

Cast Party

Last night we celebrated the ending of this school year and its musical with a party at a community center in Crafton. Some of the moms from the RTCS Drama Parent Association planned it. It was caterred with yummy food (of which some now resides in my fridge!). A man from the church who plays the piano came and gave us dinner music. The boys sang along to two numbers -- Ain't No Mountain High Enough and My Girl. It was entertaining. Two senior boys gave a short presentation, thanking the volunteers for their hard work. They also brought me up and gave me a gift -- it's a t-shirt that they had made with "So Long, Farewell, Aufwiedersehn, Goodbye!" on the front and Matthew 6:34 on the back. Everyone from the cast signed it and wrote messages on it. =) It was sweet. We danced into the night... and then it was over. Last time I will be at a RTCS Cast party. Sigh.

Cooper's Culpa

Okay... Cooper REALLY must be in a chewing phase. Today we came home and he had chewed up a Build-A-Bear dog. Completely irritating. Stuffing and pieces of nose and collar EVERYWHERE. Does anyone want a Cocker Spaniel?

If it gets the poop out, it will get BBQ sauce out, too!

So, I learned two very important lessons today.

When one sends a wing (chicken, that is) flying at oneself while dining out, one should apply "Huggies" Diaper Wipes. It works! I knew that they were amazing with poop, but stain-lifting, that's another story! Thanks for teaching us this, Ben!
So, Lesson #1 for today: keep diaper wipes handy at all times, even if you don't have children.

Lesson #2 is never, I repeat never, leave a poopy diaper anywhere near where your puppy might be able to reach it. You may just come home from dinner to find remains of the diaper and its contents strewn across the floor... but if you do, at least you'll have diaper wipes around to clean it up...
