Stuck in Iowa

Hi. I am in Sioux City, Iowa. Stuck. Our truck's battery died last night. Thankfully we are at a Holiday Inn so we are comfortable... but we are waiting for the repairmen to get here and fix it so we can get going! We are losing a lot of precious driving time!!!

So far (breakdown aside) things are going rather well. We stop for lunch at rest stops and have picnics. We eat dinner at resturaunts. C is surviving pretty well. He has his portable DVD player and a viewfinder with dinosaur pictures to look at that he really enjoys.

A is doing okay with his back--doesn't seem to be bothering him too much. The truck is actually pretty comfortable, just a little bouncy.

I am sad--missing friends. If I stay busy, I don't think about it, but if I am just sitting there, not doing anything, I have a little trouble.

Very awesome.

So, my CD Rom Drive STOPPED WORKING randomly the other day. I tried and tried and tried to fix it myself. It wasn't working. Finally, I gave in and contacted Dell Support through a Live Chat. The guy asked me if he could help me "remotely" I had no clue what that meant... the next thing I knew, I was sitting there watching my computer screen and the mouse was moving and clicking and I WASN'T DOING A THING! Can I just say that this was just the coolest computer experience ever. Suddenly my computer problem was fixed and I never left my chair, lifted the phone off the charger, or had to have some sweaty man with a shirt labeling him as "Ed" enter my abode.
Awesome. Very.

Itinerary

In case you want to know our plans for next week:

Monday -- load the moving van, farewells.
Tuesday -- drive to Joliet, IL
Wednesday -- drive to Sioux City, IA
Thursday -- drive to the Rapid City area, SD (stopping in Bridgewater, SD)
Friday -- (stopping at Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse) drive to Sheridan, WY
Saturday -- (stopping at Yellowstone Nat'l Park) drive to north of Idaho Falls, ID
Sunday -- church here and then on to Nampa, ID on FATHER'S DAY!

Busy, busy, busy!

Back from my Trailer

So, I was with "the band" this weekend. We performed at the June Balloon for NCF, my Brother's church in Mechanicsburg, PA. We did great, I might add. I am pretty psyched about it. There was much singing and now there is much scratchiness of the throat. I'll just sit at my desk tomorrow during my students' finals and enjoy the quiet.
