Home Again

We're back home to our apartment. The trip was good. Relaxing and therapeutic. =)

Besther begins their Big Adventure this week! They will be coming through Pittsburgh on Tuesday and we are having dinner with them. I am looking forward to seeing them. Their final destination is Utah--only a few hours away from our future home!!! Hopefully we will be able to see each other some weekends/holidays!

Something I am happy about.

I ate food today. Real food. I didn't throw it up and it was easy to swallow.
Oh and I am glad for warm weather.

That's all. I am just glad for that. =)

Feeling Better

My procedure went very smoothly and I am already feeling better. I can tell that having the stuff removed has affected my hormone levels because I do not feel nauseous anymore! An interesting fact: a normal pregnancy gives off hcg hormones at levels of 1,000-75,000 depending on when it is during your pregnancy, if you have twins, etc. My hormone level was 372,000!!! Isn't that crazy?

Anyway, I am going to my parent's house tomorrow to recover until after the weekend. I am looking forward to resting. C and Cooper can just run around and enjoy the nice weather and the 2.5 acres of land! :)

I will miss my hubby, but he is coming on Friday--so we only have to be apart for two nights.

I'll let you know how things go...

Sad News

I really don't want to have to blog about this, but at least this way people can find out what has happened...

We have lost our baby due to something called molar pregnancy.

Here's how I explained it in a recent email to a friend: "The baby never developed past multiplying cells. The explanation from the internet is that the egg doesn't give the baby any chromosomes, so the baby is basically only multiplying the male chromosome. In other words, no brainstem, or anything else crucial to being viable. Instead of just miscarrying, my body produced a "mole" that attached itself to my uterus. Another word for it is: "placental tumor". It gives off 10x as many hormones (hcg) as a baby would. That is why I have been feeling soooo sick lately.

Everything has to be removed on Tuesday [today at 1:00 p.m.] through a D&E. They will check to make sure there are no diseases or anything present [see website article]. During the procedure, there might be a lot of bleeding. They took blood screen/type tests so they know what kind of blood to give me if they need to do a blood transfusion.

It is expected that after follow-up care for a few months, I can get pregnant again. They check your blood frequently for a while to make sure that the hormone level returns to zero."

So, we are a little unsure at this point what the next few weeks/months will be like. Please pray for us as we adjust to the news and to what changes are being made now that we aren't expecting a baby in October.

Thank you.

Shermans Dale

Going to my Mom and Dad's house for the weekend. I'll be back sometime after Sunday.
Tonight the ladies at my church are having a photo album get-together. Everyone is supposed to bring one or more of their photo albums to share with the others. I haven't decided yet if I am going to go. If I do go, I am going to take C's baby album. It's really my best completed album. All my other albums are still in the works. :)

Tomorrow I have a scrapbooking event at a local church. It's another all-day-crop. I am only going to stay for a half-day, however. I bring all my gear and get set up on tables/displays for people to stop and shop. Hopefully I'll do some business!

We are going to stay at a friend's house on Saturday night to get a break from the apartment. They have a nice big house... so the boys will get some room to run around and play for a change. It's just one night, but it will be nice.

I haven't thrown up in two days. Maybe I am almost done this part?!?!

Whoosh!!!

That's the sound my toilet makes.
Yes, we have a toilet.
Thanks to my wonderful husband who figured out how to replace the insides of the back of the toilet all by himself and now the thing works. I don't have to go up two flights of stairs in the middle of the night to go potty anymore. See, happiness. I knew it would come eventually.

Read this if you don't mind complaining.

Okay, so the question was posed: "why the heck is life depressing?" So, I feel compelled to answer.

1) I am less than three months pregnant, hence I toss my cookies daily, sometimes more than once daily. I don't enjoy food anymore and I am tired all the time.
2) I miss my cute little Vance house. It was so cute.
3) I hate my new apartment. It's not cute.
4) I don't have heat.
5) I don't have a bathroom. It's broken.
6) The electricity is bad and you can't run more than one appliance in the same outlet at once. You have to decide: space heater or coffee???
7) The basement (where the apartment is located) smells like sewer.
8) Everything that I need to find appears to be in storage currently.
9) Due to the electricity, I can't blow dry or curl my hair.
10) The ceiling leaks because of a problem in the apartment's bathroom above us. It rained at 4:30 a.m. and then again at 6:30 a.m. in our "kitchen", which is directly across from our bed.
11) C has the stomach flu and a fever. He is miserable, too.
12) I have to move away in June and that makes me sad.

I can't think of anything else right now, which is good, but there's probably more I could say.
Sigh.

Maybe tomorrow I'll post happiness.

I'm Back!

Not much to say that's happy right now. Life is depressing and I don't want to bore you. I'll post when something enjoyable happens to write about. Either way, at least I can use my internet to read your blogs! :)

Missed you.

Going to Storage

Tomorrow is the first of many moving days for us. Hubby is getting the truck at 8:30 a.m. and people are arriving around 9:00 a.m. to help load all of our boxes and some furniture into the truck. It's going to storage for two months. Sadness. We are going to live very simply for awhile. Paper plates and cups. A futon and a 13-inch T.V. NO DISHWASHER!

Over the next week we will be sending things over to the apartment in stages. The official move over there will be Thursday. So, by Friday, this house will be gone! At least, as long as the closing goes through--which it better, because WOW we are not going to do this again!

It's going to be a busy few days. Thankfully my BIL is coming on Saturday to help us out. He's going to help watch Caleb while we are working, etc. He will also help move stuff since neither of us can really lift heavy items.

Speaking of that... we went for a chiropractic consultation yesterday. The doctor is a Christian and is being VERY nice to us. He's barely charging us anything for the visits. In fact, I get to start going for no additional charge! I am going to see how it helps my pregnancy... they said that it's very good for a pregnant woman to be adjusted because it just helps overall with blood-flow, etc. They also said that newborn babies often come in to be checked out because the birthing process is hard on their necks. It was very interesting...

Anyway... life will go back to normal in a week or so...

We might be out of communication with everyone for awhile... just until we get set up. So, if you need to talk to me, call my cell phone (from Sunday on) because our computer and house phone will probably be down.

I'll post pictures of our new digs when we get there!!!

Asparagus aka Greenies

C ate asparagus tonight. I cut up one piece and put it on his plate next to his mashed potatoes and chicken. He proceeded to wolf down the potatoes and then slowly eat his chicken. I told him to try the asparagus and he said, "No Mom, I try this [pointing to the chicken]." We had this conversation three times. Then all of the sudden he looked down at his plate and decided to pick up a piece of asparagus. It went right in his mouth! Then he looked at me and said, "Mom, I try again." He tried all four times [four pieces]! Of course he didn't want anymore than that, but he did get ice cream when he was finished. Yay!

Blah

I don't have anything to say.
It's a blah, blah, day.
The bagel that I just ate in an effort to calm my churning stomach is not doing the trick.
Blah.
