Websites are Good

I got my first Creative Memories booked "Get-Together" due to my website. I am pretty excited about it! It's going to be at the beginning of April. Thankfully she wanted to wait for five weeks and that makes it AFTER the musical! Anyway, I just wanted to share my good fortune. Computer

Purple Rain

A friend of mine is a retired hair stylist (she's home with her kids now!) and she does my hair ... for free! Actually, I exchanged voice lessons for her daughter for getting my hair done, but lately we don't have time for voice lessons with the show...

Anyway. I had my hair trimmed and also DYED! I wanted to get rid of the highlights and my brown roots growing in. Here's the color:

You can't really tell, but it's brown with purple and red in it. It's kind of turning more red than purple though, every time I shower. The water rinses purplish-red, so I know that I am losing some of those tints that I wanted to be more "suggestive" and not so "Hi, I have purple hair!" We'll see if I keep this color or not...

Yay!

We signed an offer on our new house in Idaho.
It's on Fern Street in Nampa.
Here's a picture of it: This isn't the best picture, but you get the idea. It's a three bedroom, one bathroom, house with a two-car garage and a nice sized backyard. We will be doing quite a bit of renovating on it inside -- redo the kitchen, bump out a dining room wall, wallpaper removal, new flooring, and possibly an addition. The planning starts now...

I'm going to throw up

Some people came to see the house today. We were at home because they got lost and arrived way after the time that they were scheduled to come. I had a piano student coming in 10 minutes, so I told them they could have a QUICK look around...

They are going to make an offer on our house tonight.

ACK!

V is for Valentine

Good Morning. It's a snowy day in Western PA. Hey, that rhymed.

We have been out of school four days in the last two weeks. This is getting ridiculous. Last week it was two days for cold temperatures. This week it's two days+ for snow. This is really cutting into my rehearsal time. Sigh. At least I have back up plans. I just hope that this doesn't mean that we either (1) lose our spring break or (2) have to continue school into next August.

My hubby's back seems better. He's out of pain meds, so hopefully he won't feel the need for any in the near future. He's still going to call the doctor for a follow-up.

Matt and Katie (blog to the right) had their baby on Saturday: Isabella Joy! She's cute.

Caleb did a "funny" this morning: he came running down the hall yelling a distressed "Mommy!" Then he switched directions and ran into his room yelling "Mommy! Daddy! Cooper! Caleb!" I was in the middle of sleeping, but I awoke to have a little chuckle with my hubby about that.

We are waiting for word on a house in Idaho. We put an offer on cute house on Fern St. The seller is being a dork -- so we're waiting to see if our FABULOUS realtor can work her magic... more on that later.

American Idol is good this season. Anyone watching it with me?

Sluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrp

I hate slurping. Soup. Coffee. Cereal. Soda. Etc. I won't name names, but someone near and dear to me has a serious issue with slurping. It's gotta stop. It drives me crazy. It's noisy. It's yucky. It's weird to spell. And it's just plain unnecessary. Thank you very much.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

At the end of the movie, Lemony Snicket informs his "dear readers" that despite the terrible occurances in the Baudelaire children's lives, they were indeed fortunate because they had each other...

It feels like a series of unfortunate events here in Pittsburgh, PA. I won't enumerate them here because it would just be depressing. If you are involved in my daily life, you already know what they are... if you are not, then you can use your imagination...

Despite the unfortunateness of things, I am thankful for my family who remain true to me no matter what. I have dear and loving parents who put my needs before their own. I have in-laws who make sacrafices for their son and his family. I have sisters who stop their busy lives to help me buy a house and make me a poncho and plan to visit me when I need some assistance. I have loving family members who send money and cards and emails. I also have a church family who prepares meals and makes encouraging phone calls. And I have friends who just let me talk.

Thank you to these people who make my life a fortunate one.
