What's Been Going On

Things have not been normal around here lately. I haven't been online much due to my extreme schedule. After the whole moving announcement, our life snowballed. My hubby's increasing lower back pain kept him from the floor-refinishing project that was scheduled for last weekend. Instead, my mom and dad and I had to do it. I am pretty proud of myself for sanding and staining and polyeurathaning (how the heck do you spell that word?). The floors look really great. I'll post a picture shortly. Anyway, he kept getting worse and finally went to the emergency room as well as an orthopaedic surgeon. He has a herniated disc that is pinching a nerve, causing severe pain and discomfort. He had an x-ray, but not an MRI. He's waiting to see if a round of steroids will help him heal without having to get one. Worst case scenario: surgery. Best case scenario: following up with some kind of PT or chiropractic work to strengthen his back and legs. They have gone all weird due to compensating for his lower back... anyway, those are the details. Life is somewhat going back to normal now, except for his laying around the house instead of doing projects and helping me keep up with life while doing the play... so I am slightly taxed and overwhelmed. But I am trying to handle it. We have been given the gift of meals from our church for a week. That will really help us!!! I am very grateful. The boy has cabin fever. He misses playing with his Daddy. He and Cooper get into it quite often. Sigh-that's annoying. The house is shaping up to be put on the market and plans for a trip out west to purchase a new home are in the works. Things are getting crazy!

If anyone can send my husband a get well card, it would really help him and encourage him, he's kind of down right now. Thank you.

Natalie---I am sorry to hear about your husband! It sounds like he has a wonderful wife though, so things aren't all bad! :)

I wish him to get well soon! I will pray for him!

Good job on the floors, woman!

stinks that your house will be all fixed up ... and then you move.

So ironic that you will move to Idaho this summer, because my sis and her family are moving to Kentucky for the year! haha

So we need to get together...I'm at West Allegheny these days, so I'm close to your school.
