So I have been busily directing since the beginning of March. We have been having rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays... although there were a few days that got messed up because of the pink eye episode and some school days-off. April should be fairly consistent as I don't anticipate anything like that happening again. I am enjoying working with the kids. We rehearse for 50 minutes per grade. I have gotten through most of the scenes so far... some of the classes it is taking longer, but several are now doing run-throughs of the entire scene with me stopping them to correct and critique their interpretation, give new blocking, etc.
I am crazy working on costumes right now. I have my costume crew in full swing making togas, capes, knickers, shoulder drapes, etc. I am working on locating a Queen Elizabeth costume as well as a Ben Franklin, Beowulf, etc. One day soon I hope to place a big order from a Theater company that will take care of a quite a few things on my list...
I am checking things off one at a time until we get to May 9th! Then it will be "back to normal" again! Back to Pre-School with Peter Parker, hopefully!!!

OK what is the play?
Crown Him With Many Crowns -- adapted from another school, rewritten by some members of this school's administration.
Story of History and how all the kings of different eras thought that they were the greatest and would last forever, but CHRIST is the ONE TRUE KING and he is the only one that can last forever. It's pretty cool. Each grade does a section of history, from Egypt to Modern Day.
Mr. L would be so proud!
