So now that I have been feeling better these days, I have been enjoying summer more. Let me tell you some things I like about the summer, here in Nampa...
1. The neighbors are so friendly. Everyone comes out and talks to each other. In fact my neighbors Mike and Shirley stopped by and dropped off some cleaner they found at Albertsons really cheap, so they picked up a bottle just for us! Such a silly little thing, but what a nice guesture. They thought of us, and bought us one!
2. Yard Sales are so incredible here! There are tons of them every single Friday, Saturday and sometimes even Thurs and Sun, too! People are obsessed with them! We had one on Saturday and even though we didn't have that much stuff, we still made almost $100 because people are just so into it. A lot of people buy clothing at YSs. That doesn't happen back east. So even if you only sell your clothes for 25 cents each, it's better than dropping it off at Goodwill for nothing.
3. Cooper can spend the entire day outside. He loves to bark at my neighbors and pretend he's a watchdog when someone comes to the door, but other than that annoyance (but also a good thing, I don't want him to be comfortable with everyone) he seems so happy to run and play and chew his ball and chase Peter Parker, etc.
4. The fresh air is so nice. It's not muggy and heavy with humidity, just clean and clear and feels good to breathe in. That sounds so corney, but it's true. The sun is shining almost every day. Thunderstorms don't last very long. The sky is blue and the trees are green and it's just nice to look at. :)
5. My hubby can get lots of work done in the summer. He can come home from work and still have time to be outside, mowing the grass or watering, playing baseball with PP, etc. The sun is up until pretty late at night and it's so warm in the evenings, it might as well just be called afternoon until about 9pm!
6. The vegetables from our garden are plentiful! We have been bringing in beans, lettuce, zuchini, and grape tomatoes by the barrell, it seems like! We are waiting for our peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelons, etc. to still ripen... very soon, I hope!
7. It makes it really easy to clean and wash items in this weather. I have been taking things out of storage, hosing them down, and leaving them to dry outside in the sun. Would hate to be preparing for this baby in the dead of winter when everything would have to be done inside. Sunday we brought all the stuff down from the attic to go through and see what we need... it is fun to go through baby stuff from PP... I forgot about some of it!

Glad you like it there, I hate it!!! LOL!!!!
To each his own! I love the people there so it is a beautiful place to me in so many ways. And when I was there last year I could not believe how pretty it was! It really is a gorgeous place. I just love humidity and trees. There's nothing like it, so VA is the best for me.
You remind me of the old days!
What a fun post to read. Thanks!!
It's such a good thing to count our blessings and express genuine gratitude for what we have -- the small and the not-so-small. Good for the soul.
you sound happy...is the west starting to work its way into your heart more and more? missing you!
