Grandpop and Grandmom's Visit

My parents arrived the night before Spiderman's birthday for a three-week visit in Idaho! They drove across the country this time... so they were able to bring their own car and lots of stuff with them! We are enjoying some of the books and things from my childhood that have been at their house all this time... My dad built a garden gate/fence for our vegetables... we double the size of our garden this year. My mom is sewing quilted pillow shams for the boys, curtains, hemming pants for me and put Hubby's certified arborist patch on his jacket! We organized the pantry... installed a window A/C (so it's ready when this weather gets better!)... went to some yard sales... touched up paint all over the house... and more! They are staying at my sister's house at the moment, but they'll be back. Tomorrow we'll go to a Tball game together. It's nice to have them around. And very helpful when I have to teach a lesson!!!

Love you, Mom and Dad! Thanks for being here with us!
Here are some pictures from our time so far: (Heritage Day celebration at school--cattle roping cowboy!, Walter's Ferry with Hoseleys, building the fence and playing with Grandpop)

Poor Baby!

Spidey has an ear infection. We are waiting to get his prescription as there was a mistake between doctor at the Quick Care and pharmacist... anyway, hopefully we can get him on an antibiotic soon!

We also found out what may be causing his nose/throat/gagging/puking/congestion/snoring/mouth-breathing and other related issues...!

The doctor said his tonsils and adenoids are enlarged. If you look in his throat, he practically has no space between the sides of his mouth! No wonder he can't swallow properly, there's no room in there!

We are going to get him going on loratadine around the clock for a few weeks and see if that makes a difference. If not... maybe we'll pursue getting them removed. I hope we can get some health insurance before then!

Concert #1

So, if you look on the back row, all the way to your right... the last boy standing up there is my son, Spidey!!!

Check out his cool moves and watch as he opens his mouth nice and wide to enunciate the lyrics! He is doing his music teaching mother's heart proud!

Thanksgiving Feast

Here's our big boy at his Kindergarten class Thanksgiving Day Feast. It was on Tuesday morning, their last day of school, before dismissal. The baby and I were able to stop by and see what was on the menu, plus snap a few photos of the big brother eating (well, supposed to be, more on that later...) with his friends! The girls were dressed as pilgrims and the boys as Indians. They each were able to help make their costumes. They also made Turkey party favor cups (decorated like a turkey and filled with popcorn and candy), Turkey napkin rings, Maps of the Mayflower's journey for place-mats, and the food. They mixed the batter for pumpkin bars and helped to fix the cornbread. They also had chicken legs, cranberry sauce, fried bread (something the Pilgrims ate supposedly), and green bean casserole.

Just sitting there, not eating...

And showing me things...

He was just too social to eat his feast, so we ate it in the car on the way home!
I enjoyed the pumpkin bar... Yum! Does anyone notice the "Shaw Thumb?!?!?!" ;-) Haha.

Going to School

Spiderman started Kindergarten this week. He enjoyed his first day though he didn't say much about it except that the teacher made him sit at a table with girls. Today (second day) he rode the bus.... his sweet little face peeked out the window, waving and smiling the biggest smile. I love that boy!

Ready to go to school!

Mommy is sad to see him go... but he's ready!

Baby is ready to go, too!

Walking to the car after his first day! He looks happy!

Walking to the bus stop in the cool morning air!

TBall

Spiderman started TBall on June 1st. He had a week of practices and then he had his first game on Monday (this week). So far he spends most of the time talking to the other players and making them laugh. He also likes to tell everyone that he is #10. His second game (Wed) went better. He even got two good hits! :)

Sleepy Eater

I was clearing my memory cards on my cameras and found this video on the internal memory of my older camera... didn't even know it was there. =)

Bunk Beds for Spiderman

Here he is, the proud owner of some "new" bunk beds, or as he likes to call them: "new two beds"! We found them on Craigslist. We have been looking since Christmas for a set that came with matresses... and we finally found them! We put them together on Saturday. We have already shown him how you can turn it into a cave. Very exciting stuff!

a Bike for a Boy

We recently discovered that Spiderman was ready for a "big boy bike" and providentially a customer of mine had a bike just his size that she was ready to get rid of. So, I traded a pack of page protectors (no big deal for me!) for his "new" bike! Here are a couple pictures of him trying it out with Dad. Not surprisingly, he isn't phased one bit when he falls down! :) We have had a couple of days of 50-degree weather this week and he has enjoyed being back outside again. Needless to say, I have enjoyed that as well...Spiderman definitely needs to be outside swinging rather than inside [literally] running into walls.

Superman "Shredding"

So my son's newest love is air guitar. He does it constantly. And it's very loud and very intense. But also extremely funny!

Trick-Or-Treat! Arg!!!

Here he is, "Jack Sparrow, the Pirate," getting dressed!
Don't forget to add the scary scar and scruff!

Is that really my cute little boy?!

He was in a horrible battle and lost an eye!

Getting ready to go Trick-Or-Treating!
At each house, he said "Thank you--Arg!"
He made lots of people smile.

The result! Yum!

"Let 'Em Bee Little" Preschool Halloween Party

Spiderman and his big cousin worked hard to create a spider snack, made of a chocolate covered donut and 8 pretzel legs, Yum!

Hey, that's cheating! You were supposed to eat the hanging donut without using your hands!

Pin the nose on the Jack-O-Lantern!

How about a coloring activity, using orange and black!
